Gen-Health Members Welcomed By Medshield

Medshield Medical Scheme, the 4th largest scheme in South Africa, welcomes members of the recently liquidated Gen-Health. With Medshield membership and associated claims effective from 13 October, these new members will not face any waiting periods for the treatment of chronic conditions.

Medshield endeavours to make the transfer as seamless as possible for its new members and has this week sent out communication to Gen-Health members on their current membership status. Any queries in this regard can be sent to 086 000 2120.

This latest news comes hot on the heels of the recent successful transfer of Oxygen Medical Scheme to Medshield. With a total principal membership of over 120, 000 and over 280, 000 lives covered, Medshield has strengthened its position as a prominent industry player. The scheme has this week announced a single digit average rate increase of 9.5% across its diverse range of options.

Medshield Medical Scheme's Executive Principal Officer, Duduza Khosana, believes Medshield offers the peace of mind that Gen-Health members will be seeking.
