Medicover
partners with Golden Lions Rugby Union
We recognise the strong association
between fitness and health
Medical scheme Medicover is
underscoring the link between sport and health by partnering with
Gauteng’s
Golden Lions Rugby Union as its medical sponsor for the 2007 season.
Medicover
is providing uniforms and medical equipment for use by the Golden
Lions’ medical teams during rugby matches.
“Medicover is one of very few medical
schemes that cover all professional sports,” says Principal Officer
Stephan Grobler. “We do this because we recognise the strong
association between fitness and health. It is in the interests of
not only Medicover and its members, but of the South African
economy, to have a healthy population.
“Our association with rugby also brings
home the importance of a holistic approach to health. Rugby players
must prepare themselves for the game and avoid injury with the right
level of physical fitness, the relevant preventative equipment, a
good team ethic, and knowledge of their opponents.”
Grobler
points out that in selecting a medical scheme and partnering with
that scheme, the same principals apply. “Get to know the options,
always look after your and your family’s health, and take
preventative measures against illness and injury.”
