Independent study again
rates Santam tops
Santam
has been ranked as the best insurance company in South Africa in both
the commercial and personal lines categories in a recent study by
PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the world’s most respected accounting
and audit services firms.
Santam
and Mutual & Federal are joint winners in the corporate category.
The
report entitled Strategic and Emerging Issues in the South African
Insurance Broking Industry 2005 assesses the opinions and views of
managing directors and senior executives of 18 leading South African
broking firms, which represent a comprehensive insight into the
insurance broker industry.
The
participating broking firms were asked to rank the insurance providers
in terms of success in categories like performance, presence, risk
management and distribution of products.
Steffen
Gilbert, chief executive of Santam, said, “It’s fantastic to be
recognised by brokers as the top performer in both personal and
commercial lines – these are the people who deal with existing and
potential clients every day and are happiest to recommend Santam over
all our competitors.
“Our
success comes down to being able to continually offer innovative and
flexible products and is underlined by the importance we place on
developing long-term relationships with all our policyholders and
brokers and, of course, our unwavering commitment to outstanding client
service.” This latest
recognition comes on the back of Santam making a clean sweep of the
South African Financial Services Intermediaries Association (SAFSIA)
awards, by being named Personal, Commercial and Corporate Insurer of the
Year.
Santam
was also recently named as the highest ranked financial services
provider in the Financial Mail’s Top Listed Companies Review
2005 – the only insurer to make the list. Santam was ranked 14th on
the exclusive list of the 20 Top Companies in South Africa that are
considered the “bluest of the blue chips”.
